Benefits of Yoga:

If you're someone who's looking for a way to get more flexible, get rid of stress and achieve healthy skin and hair, yoga is the way forward. Below is everything you need to know about yoga for glowing skin and healthy hair along with how it can reduce stress and anxiety.

Benefits of Yoga on Skin

1. It Boosts Blood Circulation:

When you practice yoga for skin glow, it allows more oxygen to reach the cells in your body so that they can work efficiently. Yoga poses that include a lot of twisting motions will squeeze blood from your organs and allow oxygenated blood to flow in once you release the twist. There are some yoga poses that increase blood circulation to your head and face, and when that happens, it causes a temporary rosy glowing effect on your skin. If you want your pores to open up and improve natural cleansing, you should try some yoga poses like the cobra pose, fish pose, shoulder stand and triangle pose. When you use yoga for anxiety and stress, it can also clear up stress acne as you destress your body with the use of yoga.

2. It Can Decrease Inflammation:

Inflammation can have an adverse effect on your skin and cause skin conditions like psoriasis and eczema. One of the advantages of yoga is that it can potentially reduce inflammation on your skin. Yoga is also beneficial for a range of chronic conditions like heart disease, cancer, depression, etc.

3. It May Improve Sleep:

You might already know that a good night's sleep is directly linked to your skin feeling fresh and stress-free. Lack of sleep can increase pore size and fine lines on your face among other changes because your body doesn't get enough time to repair itself when you are sleeping less. Reduced sleep can also cause a decrease in skin elasticity, reduced skin hydration and an increase in skin texture and wrinkles. One of the benefits of yoga is that when your stress levels decrease due to practising yoga daily, it helps you get your beauty sleep, which blesses your skin with all the goodness.

Benefits of Yoga on Hair

1. It can Reduce Hair Loss:

Stress is one of the major reasons behind hair loss. Excessive stress can take a toll on your hair health as it affects the body's immune system response and slows down hair growth. When you practice yoga for stress relief, it helps you manage your stress levels by reducing inflammatory markers in your body, this reducing the chances of you experiencing hair loss.

2. It can Improve Hair Health:

There are many yoga poses that encourage blood flow to the head. Some inverted yoga poses can rush your blood to your scalp, which can help reverse hair issues. However, it is important to note that yoga can only temporarily increase blood flow to the scalp, so if you are dealing with some serious hair issues, relying on just yoga won't work for you. It's better to combine yoga along with medication or treatment that is prescribed by your doctor.

Benefits of Yoga for Stress

1. It Releases Emotional Energy:

It is natural for negative emotions to build up inside you when you don't express enough. But this piles on and converts into stress. When this emotional energy builds up, you tend to release it in negative ways by either shouting or yelling at people. When you do yoga for stress relief, it helps you release this emotional energy bottled up inside you. If you ever feel heavy in your neck or shoulders getting tenses, know that this is a build-up of negative energy. There are yoga poses like standing forward bend, child's pose, bridge pose, etc., that release this tenseness and heaviness from your body.

2. It Develops a Connection Between Your Mind, Body and Soul:

Yoga and its benefits can also extend to developing a connection between your mind, body and soul. When the three of them are connected, you will feel a sense of harmony and comfort in your life. When there's an imbalance in your mind, body and soul connection, your body will start to feel stressed out. Practising yoga for stress relief encourages you to live in the present and makes you more mindful of yourself and your environment. This itself is a great way to manage or get rid of stress.

3. It Relaxes your Body and Mind:

Benefits of yoga, when practised correctly, can be exceptionally soothing, relaxing and reduce tension drastically. Yoga teaches you the art of letting go, which indirectly contributes to relaxing your body. This is because yoga makes you control your breathing and normalise your heart rate and blood pressure, all of which releases stress from your body and relax your mind. One of the advantages of yoga is that it teaches you to focus on one thing at a time, making it easier for you to manage stress. So, when you consistently practise yoga, you learn to control your mind and become more aware of your breath.
